Follow Up to Carjacking Incident

This message is sent in follow up to yesterday’s NinerNotice about a carjacking on campus at approximately 2 p.m. 

At approximately 8:30 p.m. last night, the vehicle was recovered by CMPD in their North Division. The suspect was located with the vehicle and arrested. 

The suspect, Mark Jordan Williams II, is charged with six felonies, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm on a campus. Additional charges are pending. He is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail. 

The recovered vehicle was able to be returned to its owner.
